Job Overview
My Banh Mi is seeking a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Farmers Market Associate to join our Vietnamese sandwich and coffee business at the Chula Vista Farmers Market every Sunday.
This is a hands-on role that involves helping with the entire market operation, including setting up the booth, preparing and assembling banh mi, processing orders, and breaking down the booth at the end of the day.
Our markets are fast-paced, energetic, and highly interactive. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with food, connecting with customers, and being part of a small, growing local business.
We are looking for someone who can consistently commit to Sundays, with opportunities for additional hours at pop-ups, catering events, and future business operations as we continue to grow.
Training will be provided. Previous farmers market experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up and breaking down the farmers market booth, including canopy, tables, equipment, displays, and inventory.
- Help prepare, assemble, and package sandwiches while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Greet customers, answer menu questions, and provide friendly, welcoming service.
- Take customer orders and process payments using Square POS.
- Assist with preparing and serving Vietnamese iced coffee and other beverages.
- Restock ingredients, packaging, and supplies throughout the market.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation area.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Work efficiently with team members during busy periods to keep orders moving.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies.

- Willing to help with all aspects of market operations, including physical setup, food preparation, and cleanup.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Chula Vista Farmers Market.
- Ability to follow food safety guidelines and maintain a clean workspace.
- California Food Handler Card or willingness to obtain one before handling food.
