JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:
The mission statement of Jews for Jesus is: “We relentlessly pursue God’s plan for the salvation of the Jewish people.” The Staff Accountant is an integral part of the Finance Department and reports to the Assistant Director of Finance. The Finance Department is responsible for handling all monies received via mail or internet, paying all invoices and reimbursements, and preparing payroll for processing. The successful candidate will have a “roll-up-the-sleeves” attitude, be able to multi-task, and be ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position. This is a fully remote, full-time position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Generate daily income reports.
- Process accounts payable, including invoice coding, entry, and vendor recordkeeping.
- Review and process expense reports submitted through Concur.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Assist in month-end close, including preparing journal entries, monthly accruals, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly payments to international entities.
- Track fixed asset acquisitions.
- Process monthly charitable gift annuity distributions.
- Record health plan activities and prepare monthly benefit statements.
- Prepare annual 1099s.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial audits.
- Maintain written procedures for assigned processes.
- Performs other duties & responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in training new staff within the same job role.
- File documents in designated electronic folders.

- Reviews work for accuracy and completeness before submitting for review.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Full-time, M-F, 8am-5pm in the employee’s local time zone with core hours overlapping the Finance Department.
- Evenings and weekends may be required on occasion.
- This is a fully remote position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or equivalent field.
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to handle change in a fast-paced growing company, along with “wearing multiple hats.”
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge and Concur.
- Experience with high-volume accounts payable and expense report processing.
- Nonprofit or faith-based organization accounting experience.
- Experience working in a fully remote finance team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
