Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Snow Shoveler to join our outdoor maintenance team during the winter season. In this role, you will be responsible for clearing snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and other designated areas to ensure safety and accessibility. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with outdoor work experience who enjoy working in a dynamic environment and take pride in their work.
Responsibilities
- Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, pathways, driveways, and parking lots using shovels, snow blowers, or other ground maintenance equipment
- Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and ensure safety
- Monitor weather conditions to anticipate snow accumulation and respond promptly
- Maintain safety protocols by wearing appropriate protective gear and following established procedures
- Perform routine inspections of work areas to identify hazards or additional snow removal needs
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist with other grounds maintenance tasks as needed to support overall site safety and appearance
Skills
- Experience with outdoor work, landscaping, or groundskeeping activities
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and snow removal equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, and salt spreaders
- Knowledge of safety protocol adherence during outdoor maintenance tasks
- Ability to identify plants and understand basic horticultural practices (nice-to-have)
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail in maintaining safe outdoor environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
