Marugame Udon is a fast-growing international brand serving handmade Sanuki Style udon and crispy tempura. We are searching for a team player that can join our value-based team in the pursuit of our vision of “Creating moments of joy through the culture of Omotenashi and the comfort of handcrafted udon” here in the US market. Marugame Udon currently has 22 restaurants located in Hawaii, California, and Washington.
Position Overview:
The Crew Member is responsible for delivering fast, friendly, high-quality service while upholding our brand values of omotenashi (exceptional hospitality), speed, quality, and embracing differences. This role supports all restaurant operations – from preparing food and serving guests to maintaining cleanliness and working as part of a collaborative, high-energy team. Crew Members must be adaptable, reliable, eager to learn, willing to be cross-trained, and committed to creating an excellent guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience and Hospitality
- Create a warm, welcoming environment through friendly, approachable service.
- Demonstrate exceptional hospitality by anticipating guest needs and going the extra step to ensure an unforgettable experience.
- Handle guest requests and/or concerns professionally and communicate effectively.
- Escalate guest requests, concerns, or complaints to management team when needed.
Food Preparation and Quality
- Prepare menu items accurately, consistently, and in accordance with brand standards.
- Maintain a strong commitment to food quality, safety, and presentation.
- Follow all company procedures and food safety protocols.
- Maintain hygiene and personal cleanliness at all times.
Service Speed and Accuracy
- Work with a strong sense of urgency, especially during peak hours.
- Accurately take orders, communicate clearly with team members, and ensure correct order assembly.
- Stay calm under pressure while maintaining speed and accuracy
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Support teammates during busy periods, switching stations or tasks as needed.
- Participate in cross-training and demonstrate willingness to learn multiple positions.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with coworkers of diverse backgrounds.
- Hold yourself accountable and help maintain a positive, solution-oriented work environment.
Adaptability and Problem-Solving
- Adjust quickly to changing priorities (e.g., moving between prep, line, cashier or dining area)
- Identify small issues early and take initiative to solve them or get help.
- Adapt to new processes, menu items, or operational changes.
- Participate and be proficient in all new and updated trainings.
Reliability and Professionalism
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Follow uniform standards, hygiene expectations, and professionalism guidelines.
- Maintain clean work areas through regular cleaning routines.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability tow ork in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to life up to 40 lbs.
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive motions.
- Work in a warm kitchen with hot equipment.

- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, using hands, and reaching with arms.
- Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
- Routine office duties include computer keyboard use and long periods of looking at a computer monitor.
