Summary
The Investment Manager Services Team is part of the Corporate & Institutional Implementation Services vertical within the CITS Department (part of the larger Client Delivery Solutions function) and is responsible for providing Operational Support for Corporate & Institutional clients of Northern Trust. IM Services consists of a worldwide network of partners who support functions related to

  • ACTOP – Account Opening
  • NMR – New Management Reporting
  • BAM/BIMCAT/Control – IMLG Support Team activities
The Team Leader will report to a Section Manager within the CITS Bangalore Management Team, and will be accountable for the day-to-day management responsibility of the IM Services Team. Responsible for the assignment of work to the team. Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact. Conducts performance management and career development processes for staff. Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) has day-to-day management responsibilities for the IM Services Teams. The business entails to servicing the Corporate and Institutional Clients and the major responsibilities are: To ensure smooth processing of Client Life cycle events and systemic account setups, linkages of Global accounts to Sponsors and Consolidations, control third party/Investment Manager Accesses to systems, dispatch of IM Welcome letters, processing termination of Investment Managers, Client standing Instructions, generation of reports that assist IMLG oversight Teams
Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work. Possesses the leadership and organizational skills required to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions. Provides input and support to budget management process.
Major Duties 1. Has day-to-day management responsibilities for the ACTOP, NMR and IMLG Support Teams at Bangalore, and provide guidance to partners to help strengthen controls and mitigate risk 2. Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work 3. Acts as the first point of escalation for risk and control related matters for the department 4. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions 5. Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact; delivers a work product that requires little revision 6. May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management 7. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor team members 8. Manage daily operational activities and supervise day-to-day work 9. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions 10. Provides input and support to budget management process 11. Flexible for stretch assignments and shift timings Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrate through examples /evidence of strong operations knowledge including secondary review & controls, risks & mitigation
Demonstrate through examples /evidence day to day team management, mentor/coach team members and sharing feedback
Demonstrate through examples /evidence analytical ability, problem solving, and escalation of issue
Demonstrate through examples /evidence excellent written and verbal language skills, ability to independently address technical & non-technical issues, knowledge share / training sessions conducted, proactively troubleshoot and manage escalations, and work with global teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to consult with partners and clients as well as regulators and auditors. Candidates with knowledge on IMLG activities, Securities Operations, Corporate Actions and exposure to Fundmaster/IMS/IMAP application will have an added advantage. Experience in interpreting Operational elements of Risk and Compliance policies and overseeing adherence to the same is required.
